The Clubhouse
The Clubhouse was designed by Carlisle architect and club member, Walter Gibbings in 1903, and extended in 1908. It retains a period atmosphere reflecting the true character of both Silloth and the course.The Lounge has recently been extensively modernised and remodelled, with the roof-space opened up as originally intended making the whole Lounge much airier and fresher.
It looks out from an elevated position offering good Nineteenth Hole views of those trying to steer their drives up the first fairway, and then later, negotiating the silky subtleties of the eighteenth green.Displayed within the Lounge are photographs of notable local golfers and personalities. None are greater than Cecil Leitch, whose remarkable intimidating portrait dominates the room and reminds members and visitors alike, why she was such a great match player.
The round complete, players can relax in comfort with a long or short drink at attractive prices in the Dining Room, where, if you are lucky, the local speciality - Solway Shrimps, may be on the menu. Or, for a complete change, a quiet game of snooker in the popular Snooker Room.

Great links course, which tests shot making ability. In the prevailing wind need to hang onto a score on the front 9, and take advantage on the back, apart from the very difficult S I 1 par 4 back into the wind.
Clubhouse very welcoming with relaxed dress code, good beer, and some of the best food served in a golf club.
Overall highly recommend a visit.

Simply stunning. From the warm welcome on arrival we were made to feel like it was our home course. The course was in great condition, you're well rewarded for good shots but it's brutal if you're wayward, exactly how links golf should be. Worth every minute of the long journey to play here. If you're thinking of playing here , book it, you won't be disappointed. The best value for money course I've ever played. Thanks for a great day.

If Silloth on Solway Golf Club was anywhere else in the U.K. It would be far more expensive and much more difficult to get a tee time. One of my very favourite locations to play golf. The greens this year were as smooth and true as I have ever seen them.

Very challenging in places and the Par 5 13th was into the wind and is probably the hardest par 5 I've ever played
